OEMK is the only integrated steel company in Russia that carries out direct reduction of iron and smelting in electric furnaces. This allows for steel production that is virtually free from harmful impurities and residual elements.

- Steel products: long steel products, square billets, pipe billets.

|1974||The Ministry of Foreign Trade of the USSR and a group of West German companies signed an agreement in Moscow on a joint venture to establish a metallurgical plant that would use the MIDREX process of direct reduction of iron.|
