Metalloinvest commences certification process of energy management system at Mikhailovsky GOK

The energy management system at Mikhailovsky GOK (part of Metalloinvest) has undergone an audit to determine its compliance with the ISO 50001: 2011 international standard. The audit was carried out by specialists from TUV SUD, the German organisation.
The audit of the energy management system precedes the implementation of this international standard. During the audit, the experts familiarised themselves with the management of operations, facilities and equipment to monitor energy consumption, examined the competence of employees, and checked the implementation of energy management legislation.
The specialists appreciated the work carried out by Metalloinvest in regards to the reconstruction of facilities, updating of equipment, the introduction of accounting systems and the reduction of average electricity and gas consumption at Mikhailovsky GOK.

As well as increasing the efficiency of production, this is also in line with the objectives set by the president of the Russian Federation."
Based on the results of the audit, the specialists of TUV SUD developed measures for the implementation of the ISO 50001 standard for the energy management system at Mikhailovsky GOK.
The procedure for certification of the energy management system is carried out at all key enterprises of Metalloinvest. The energy management system at OEMK (Stary Oskol, Belgorod Region) is certified as compliant with the ISO 50001 standard. The audit was successfully carried out at Ural Steel (Novotroitsk, Orenburg region) and is planned for Lebedinsky GOK (Gubkin, Belgorod region).
In addition, the Company is compliant with the following international standards: ISO 9001: 2015 for its quality management system; OHSAS 18001: 2007 for its occupational health and safety management system; and ISO 14001: for its environmental management system.
