Lebedinsky GOK has been recognised as the winner of the All-Russian ‘Health and Safety 2017’ competition in the category of ‘highly effective solutions in the field of prevention and rehabilitation of workers' health’. The award ceremony was held as part of the All-Russian Labour Protection Week, which takes place in Sochi from 9-11 April.

Lebedinsky GOK’s vaccination programme for the prevention of influenza and pneumococcal infection was praised by the competition experts.

Andrei Salnikov, Head of the Health Protection Department, commented: "Metalloinvest pays great attention to the health of its employees. At Lebedinsky GOK, free vaccinations against influenza viruses are a regular practice, common throughout all company enterprises. The vaccination campaign that took place at Lebedinsky GOK made it possible to vaccinate more than 5,500 employees of the enterprise. The effectiveness and safety of the vaccine that we use has been tested for years."

The campaign to vaccinate employees against influenza and pneumococcal infection is held annually at all of Metalloinvest’s enterprises. Special attention is paid to educational work, explaining the advantages and safety of this method of preventing illness and infection.

The ‘Health and Safety’ competition is an initiative of the Interregional Association for the Promotion of Safe Working Conditions (‘Etalon’), supported by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation and the PPE Association. Its goal is to identify the most outstanding achievements in the field of ensuring safe working conditions and preserving the health of workers, as well as encouraging individuals who have made the most significant contribution to the development of science, technology and solving practical problems in the field of labour protection.
