Metalloinvest and ChelPipe Group discuss supplies of rolled steel at Coordination Council meeting

Metalloinvest and ChelPipe Group held a Coordination Council meeting at Ural Steel (part of Metalloinvest). At the meeting, managers and experts from the companies discussed pricing, quality and delivery dates of rolled steel for the production of large diameter pipes at Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (part of ChelPipe Group).
Ural Steel is among the strategic suppliers of rolled steel to ChelPipe Group. In 2018, the enterprise shipped 270,000 tonnes of steel products to its partners. In the first half of 2019 alone, the volume of shipments exceeded 220,000 tonnes.
Nazim Efendiev, First Deputy CEO, Sales Director of Management Company Metalloinvest commented: “Metalloinvest aims to develop a long-term strategic partnership with key suppliers and identify collaborative ways to improve product quality. A record volume of strip shipments to ChelPipe Group is forecast in 2019, which is proof of our efficient partnership.”
Alexander Golodyagin, Deputy General Manager of Strategic Cooperation, ChelPipe Group commented: “ChelPipe Group takes part in large international main pipeline construction projects and it also supplies products for reparatory needs to Russian oil companies. Holding the Coordination Council with leading producers of rolled steel is essential to successful cooperation around meeting shipment deadlines and providing high quality products to end customers.”

The parties discussed ongoing supplies of rolled steel to produce large diameter pipes as well as the future requirements of the pipe company for new Ural Steel products to produce stamp-welded components for pipelines at the ETERNO plant (part of ChelPipe Group).
Representatives of Metalloinvest and ChelPipe Group also outlined further steps of partnership needed to improve product quality and highlighted the positive impact of equipment modernisation at the Sheet Rolling Facility and Electric Arc Furnace Shop at Ural Steel.
Representatives of the companies visited Ural Steel’s Sheet Rolling Facility and Electric Arc Furnace Shop as part of the meeting. The next Coordination Council has been scheduled for autumn 2019 at ChelPipe Group.
