The motto of the School of Communal Good is:
“Be helpful to become successful!”
The School of Communal Good (SCG) is a Metalloinvest CSR programme for school children in four towns, where the Company operates: Gubkin, Zheleznogorsk, Stary Oskol, and Novotroitsk. The primary goal of the initiative is to develop an active and responsible approach among children towards their own lives and towards the life of the town, where they were born and are growing up. The programme undertakes to promote community engagement among schoolchildren and their parents in social, ecological, educational and cultural spheres, aiming to resolve social problems important to them and to the area as a whole. Sessions take place all year round and are supplemented by open days. At these sessions and open days young people learn to create, lead, and realise innovative projects.
The SCG project has been ongoing since 2011 with the support of local administrations in line with the Company’s commitment to socio-economic partnership with the regions where it operates. School children between the ages of eleven and eighteen are invited to take part in the programme. They are taught about the realisation of social responsibility projects, fundraising, and media communications, as well as acquiring practical voluntary skills.
- more than 100 projects implemented by school children in their towns;
- more than 2,500 participants in the programme from amongst school children, parents, and other interested parties;
- approximately 5,000 beneficiaries of the programme.
