Mikhailovsky GOK

Mikhailovsky GOK is one of the largest iron ore mining and processing facilities in Russia and the CIS.

Through open-pit mining, Mikhailovsky GOK develops an iron ore deposit with proven reserves of 10.4 billion tonnes.

The main products produced at Mikhailovsky GOK are:

  • Sintered ore;
  • Iron ore concentrate;
  • Non-fluxed pellets;
  • Fluxed pellets.

2019 Mikhailovsky GOK launches construction of a crushing and conveyor facility. Ongoing installation of the crushing and sorting unit.

Mikhailovsky GOK begins shipment of premium quality pellets.
2018 Mikhailovsky GOK launches concentrate intake facility.
Mikhailovsky GOK introduces new technology for the beneficiation of iron ore concentrate.
Pellet Plant #3 increases annual production efficiency by 5%.
2017 An exhauster, a new purification system to remove dust from the air, has been installed at the crushing and sorting plant.
2016 Pellet Plant No.3 has achieved its design capacity.
2015 Pellet Plant #3, the largest pellet plant in Russia, came into operation.
2014 The main stage of the mining transportation complex modernisation programme began. Installation work and the adjustment of equipment and modular programming was completed as part of the first phase of introducing an automated control system for the mining transportation complex.
2013 Work began in the fourteenth technological section of the crushing and processing complex on adjustments for experimental industrial testing of oxidised quartzite.
2008 The first hematite concentrate was produced from current production waste.
2006 Flotation technology for magnetite concentrate beneficiation came into operation.
2004 Mikhailovsky GOK mined its billionth tonne of iron ore.
2001 The construction of the modular plant for the production of blasting agent components was completed.
1978 The modular casting facility for pig iron, steel and non-ferrous casting was put into operation.
1976 The first pellets were produced at the pellet plant.
1973 The first ore concentrate was produced at the crushing and processing complex.
1967 Construction of the mining and processing complex began.
1961 The crushing and sorting plant for sintering ore production was put into operation.
1960 The first high-grade iron ore was mined.
1957 The construction of a mining facility at the Mikhailovsky deposit was approved.
