2 April 2021

Ural Steel (part of Metalloinvest) is providing support to the town of Novotroitsk in its response to an accident at the sewage treatment plant and in organising the supply of drinking water to local residents.

Ural Steel provided the ommunal Services Department with a pump to expel wastewater at the treatment plant, as well as with its own powerful backup electric motor to install at the plant.

The enterprise also allocated a fuel truck to provide diesel for trucks delivering water around the city.

On Friday morning, Nazim Efendiev, CEO of Management Company Metalloinvest, arrived in Novotroitsk and together with Ildar Iskakov, Managing Director of Ural Steel, participated in the work of the operational centre headed by Denis Pasler, Governor of the Orenburg region.

Nazim Efendiev said: We reached out to the municipal and regional authorities immediately after the accident and provided our support straight away. Metalloinvest does not abandon its people, and the residents of Novotroitsk can rest assured that we will always be there to provide support.

Ildar Iskakov added: Ural Steel continues operating as usual. All of the enterprises subdivisions are being supplied with technical water, while employees are being fully provided with bottled water. Today, staff working on the daytime shift was transferred to remote working, while employees who are unable to perform their duties remotely will receive an extra day off.
