Metalloinvest is the General Partner of the Russian Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai

Metalloinvest and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation have signed a cooperation agreement for the World Expo 2020. The fair will be held in Dubai (UAE) from 1 October 2021 until 31 March 2022.
The Agreement was signed by Nazim Efendiev, CEO of Management Company Metalloinvest, and Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and General Commissioner of the Russian Pavilion at Expo 2020, in the presence of Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade at the INNOPROM International Industrial Trade Fair.
Metalloinvest will act as the General Partner of the Russian Pavilion at Expo 2020. The Company has signed a corresponding agreement with Eventica Communications.
Denis Manturov said: “We always welcome the participation of our companies in international exhibitions. Therefore, this agreement is an important step towards implementing a high-quality and rich business programme for the Russian Federation at the World Expo 2020.”
Nazim Efendiev said: “Metalloinvest is one of the leaders in the metals and mining industry in terms of adopting advanced technologies and is a reliable partner for global metallurgical companies and equipment suppliers. Through our participation at Expo 2020, we want to contribute to promoting Russian companies on the global market and present the best domestic developments. Holding the exhibition in the United Arab Emirates, one of the most actively growing centres of innovation, has reinforced our interest in partnering with the Expo. Over ten years ago, Metalloinvest became the first Russian company to invest in the diversification of the UAE economy by launching Hamriyah Steel.”
The World Expo is held every five years and it is one of the oldest and largest international events. Over its 168-year history, the Expo has become a historic showcase of contemporary innovation and technology. Expo 2020 will be held for the first time in the Middle East and will be among the most significant and most attended.
The theme of Expo 2020 is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, while the theme of the Russian pavilion is ‘Creative Mind: Driving the Future’.
Participation of 192 countries will allow Expo 2020 to become a global platform for expanding trade and investment links, as well as cooperation in innovation, science, culture and socially significant projects. The exhibition is expected to be visited by 25 million people, with 30% being UAE residents and 70% - international visitors.
For six months, both the Expo itself and the Russian pavilion will host thematic events dedicated to urbanism, sustainable development, artificial intelligence, information technology, creative industries, cybersport, new directions for tourism and other key areas of society.
