Metalloinvest joins the National ESG Alliance

Metalloinvest, a leading global iron ore and HBI producer and supplier, and one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, took part in the inaugural conference dedicated to the creation of the National ESG Alliance. As part of the launch, a cooperation agreement was signed by the participants.

<p>The mission of the Alliance is to facilitate the transition to a sustainable economic development model that ensures nature conservation, community well-being and long-term business prosperity within existing natural resource constraints, based on the commitment, cooperation and partnership of all parties involved. </p>
<p>Ivan Streshinsky, CEO of USM and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metalloinvest, said: We are confident that bringing the largest Russian companies together will help to find effective solutions for climate change and the green transformation of industry. Metalloinvest has accumulated significant experience in the production of iron ore raw materials and steel with a low carbon footprint and is interested in cooperating to develop new technologies. We are also ready to share practices on the implementation of sustainability principles in corporate governance. </p>
<p>The meeting was also attended by top executives from a range of companies: Avtoban, Sistema, Gazprom Neft, EuroChem, Kolmar Group, Uralchem, Polyus, Prosveshcheniye, RUSAL, R-Pharm, Sber, SIBUR Holding, Solar Systems, SUEK, T Plus, TechnoNICOL, Transmashholding, Delo Management Company, Uralkali, Pharmstandard, Unilever Rus, En+ Group, Eurasian Resources Group, Mercury Retail, Holding PLC, O1 Properties, Vos'hod Development, X5 Group. </p>
<p>The National ESG Alliance is designed as a permanent platform for dialogue and engagement by all stakeholders, knowledge and experience sharing between different business sectors, government and society, development and promotion of new ESG norms and standards, including industry guidelines, formation of a common framework for ESG evaluation and reporting, development of transformative partnerships, collaboration and implementation of common programmes to achieve sustainable development goals, investments into ESG-focused breakthrough projects. </p>
