Metalloinvest donates high-tech diagnostic equipment to Kursk hospital

Metalloinvest has provided a CT scanner and associated medical equipment to the municipal clinical maternity hospital in Kursk.
The opening of the computed tomography facility in the Kursk maternity hospital was attended by Roman Starovoit, Governor of Kursk region; Nazim Efendiev, CEO of Management Company Metalloinvest; Julia Mazanova, Social Policy and Corporate Communications Director; and Anton Zakharov, Managing Director of Andrey Varichev Mikhailovsky GOK.
Roman Starvoit said: "Metalloinvest has been a reliable partner in the development of our region for many years. This support is especially important in the current complex situation, when the Company's social investments help save lives. As part of our cooperation, Zheleznogorsk Hospital, the Kursk Maternity Hospital and Hospital #6 have all received CT scanners. This equipment will remain in our hospitals and will be available for the benefit of Kursk region residents.”
Nazim Efendiev remarked: "From the very beginning of the pandemic we have directed all of our efforts to protect the health of our employees and the residents of our towns and regions. At the initiative of Metalloinvest’s founder Alisher Usmanov, we are implementing a large-scale programme to support the medical institutions in Kursk, Belgorod and Orenburg regions. The programme will help alleviate the impact of coronavirus and expand the capacity for providing high-quality medical care in the long term.”

The newly acquired CT scanner has a high examination accuracy. Doctors see this equipment as a significant aid not only for diagnosing coronavirus infection complications, but also many conditions affecting the brain, spine, lungs, liver, kidneys and other organs. The scanner’s unique application package is able to process scans into high-quality three-dimensional images, allowing to accurately determine the location, extent and nature of disease centres. The team of the computed tomography facility has undergone training and is ready to work on the new equipment.
The list of already supplied as well as incoming equipment includes syringe dispensers, patient monitors, high quality resuscitation beds, ventilators, oxygen concentrators, blood gas and electrolyte analysers that monitor the acid-base balance, several thousand reusable suits and masks, as well as modern medicines which are recommended and used by leading Russian clinics.
Metalloinvest allocated around 600 mn roubles to support healthcare in the Kursk region.
Metalloinvest’s support programme for medical institutions in the total amount of 2 bn roubles covers medical organisations of Stary Oskol, Gubkin (Belgorod region), Zheleznogorsk (Kursk region) and Novotroitsk (Orenburg region), as well as of regional centres and nearby towns (close to Kursk, Belgorod, Orenburg and Orsk).Back
